life

i really should sleep soon. i have to work tomorrow and i'm starting my new course at ubc tomorrow evening (psyc322).

it was a good day today. i didn't only finish part of the assignment-writing i wanted to do, but i also had lunch with a friend, rested, looked for a place in waterloo (via the net), connected with people over the phone, sent people some eBlessings, figured out some stuff for our mexico trip training, and finally watched a few minutes of two inspiring shows on tv tonight:

children full of life

"a fourth-grade class in a primary school in [japan] learn lessons about compassion from their homeroom teacher, toshiro kanamori."

and patch adams
"our job is to improve the quality of life, not just delaying death"
"you treat a disease you win, you lose. you treat a person, i guarantee you'll win, no matter what the outcome."

OH, and i got a gift and a ONE campaign bracelet from my dear sister! so i ended up spending some time learning about that and LIVESTRONG today as well.

good day.

heme aquí

here i am.
a simple search on gospelcom.net tells me that when i say that phrase "heme aquí", i'm following the footsteps of abraham, isaac, jacob, moses, samuel, isaiah and many more in their pilgrimage. i'm joining into god's greater story so to say. it's a response to god's call and his love.

here i am.
to be honest, i'm a little bit lost as to where i am. it was quite the sobering feedback i got from ubc social work today: "limited critical reflection & thinking, limited participation, limited awareness..."
i kinda know where i'll be going for the next little while, but there are doubts as to whether i have all that it takes to get me to where i want to be. (a little announcement here: if all goes well for me in the next few months, i should be studying at laurier in ontario by september.)

here i am.
... in the present. don't really know what to say.
living by faith. i wonder what that really entails...

**a note on 'eme aquí  (hahaa... i took out the "h" cuz priscila told us it's a silent h)
it was a spanish song that i learned at urbana 2000. it was great to be able to sing it at the mexico fundraising dinner the other night. indeed, HE PROVIDES!!! what an awesome night it was!!

and here are some pictures to illustrate!!

it was my faith community retreat to tofino!!!! i had an AWESOME time there last weekend!! GOD IS GOOD. I LOVE HIM. HE LOVES ME!!

there's a sad note #3 after thatconcert as well...

i can't stop thinking about them... about their suffering of their siblings even as we speak (or write&read)... the absolute poverty in those villages... the reverse culture shock that these kids will have to face... the children and parents dying of AIDS and everything else..
